At the origin of this scarf is Hema Patel a designer passionate about the Indian textile tradition. American of Indian origin, living in Bombay for more than a quarter of century, this passion has made her travel all around India. She teaches and transmits those traditions to weavers and block printers at Maheshwar India.
Purist, combining handicraft skills with a rigorous selections of silks and cottons, Hema has revived a Luxury tradition of handloom weaving with her own designs.
Without making compromises, Hema has mastered the art to push traditional techniques to their most contemporary boundaries.
Her design sober yet elegant is well adapted to the tastes of a western audience and has encountered a growing success in the UK and the US among a circle of “initiés”.
